Bloom in the Heart
Step by step, I don’t feel alone because I know that, in my struggles, I am accompanied by God.I know that not everyone has the same beliefs as me. Honestly, that is the beauty of the world, because I get to learn from others and others from me.

Eighteen
When I realized the brink of adulthood was approaching, the first thing I wanted to do was buy a cupcake. It wouldn’t be hard, in my current living arrangement. Since I live on a college campus, many stores, restaurants, and libraries are a short walk away from my dorm. One happens to be a place called Molly’s Cupcakes.

Finals are right around the corner and the school year is about to end. For many people, including me, finals can be a very stressful time. I have some strategies that help me de-stress before and after my finals.Getting good grades is something that almost every person, whether they are in High School or in College, has to worry about.

Literature, Learning, and Love
I don’t remember when my parents first got a membership for the Austin Public Library. I only knew that my father always brought along the plastic card when my siblings and I piled into the car for the fifteen-minute drive.

Must-Have Sims 4 Mods
I’m not a big fan of most video games, but one of the games that I absolutely love is the Sims 4. I first started playing it on the Xbox, but quickly became bored of it because of one simple problem: The game was ugly.

A little bit more of Amy March
Amy March is much more than what a lot of people think. No, she is not only the sister who burned Jo’s book. Or the one who got away easy. Or the one who stole Laurie away. She is the one who made mistakes and asked for forgiveness.

Maybe, Maybe
Last year, over the course of the summer, I became a deep fan of a band called AJR. Though I’d known a few of their songs since middle school, I had never delved deep into their music. I didn’t know how much I’d grow to love the subject matter they focused on, from the struggle to feel creative and unique, the struggle to keep up with fans’ ever-ballooning expectations of their music, the constant chaos and turmoil of the internet and content surplus, and so much more.

The Color of My Wind
Recently, I tried the Aldo & Barbie Collab pink platform shoes. For those who have not seen them, they are these beautiful chunky heels that have a pink silk fabric, a beaded heart in the center, sparkly pink glitter bottom, and an essence of what Barbie is: girly and simply beautiful.

Mr. Paul's Laser
I love everything about sailing. I love it when the wind whips my hair towards my face, when it’s January in Rhode Island and my fingers get numb from the cold, and when salt water gets in my eyes during the first leg of a race, exactly when my vision is most important.

The Sidekick
The stall separator on my left is carved with the same drawings that were there when I was a foot shorter. No one ever used the bathroom because the fluorescent lights had a habit of going out, the air was offensively humid, and the stench of wet grass never left even in the hottest Texas weather.

Passion Over Grief
When I first started figure skating at the age of four, I would’ve never guessed the impact it would have on my life and well-being. Throughout all these years, although I wasn't seen as a figure skating "prodigy," my passion kept me going.

Dear 2024
You have finally arrived and I find myself standing at the edge of a significant transition in my life's journey. You represent not just a year on the calendar to me, but a threshold between the familiarity of my past and the uncertainty of my future. The closing chapter of my high school days will converge with the dawn of college and adulthood.

Living With Ourselves
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” - Oscar Wilde

Moments
With every passing day, my memories of my childhood fade a little faster. It’s a thought that I wish could be an exaggeration, but with photos, documents, videos, and all other sorts of digital files keeping intricate records of my personality at every stage of life, I have proof that my life is far larger than I remember it being.

A New Year, A New Me?
The highlights of a year are intertwined with who we have become through the hardships and successes we experienced that year. As the year comes to an end, we strive to learn from our mistakes and go down memory lane to see all we lived through.

In Case They Ever Invent a Time Machine
Looking down at you makes me feel tall. I forget how small you are till you pretend I can’t keep up. Holding my hand and dragging me to play in between crinkly eyes and obnoxious giggles, screaming in between winded laughs as I chase you, once I catch you, I spin you, with over-dramatic words about how great you are at games. You smile, asking me to pick you up again just because I can.

Skin
From peers, mentors, teachers, and friends, I've often gotten comments on how mature I am for my age. I'm logistical when delegating tasks or work, realistic when reflecting on my progress in mental and physical health, determined to fulfill a future career path, and very good at offering advice to those in personal conflicts.

Growing Pains
I am a product of years of suffering. A product of men and women who were cut from steel. Men and women made grotesque from their broken dreams. They are all cracked hands worn from labor and hushed whispers directed toward their faith.

Our Sci-Fi World
As we continue to advance into our modern age, technology advances at a very fast rate. With only a few simple taps from the small electronic rectangle in our hands, we can talk to anyone we want, as long as we have their contact information.
